A “note” recorded on a certain day in one's room during the voluntary lockdown

Maria Abe

Abe, an artist and contemporary dancer, reconsidered the relationship between her home and her body during the period of stay-at-home request and created a performance video. The video, which begins with a window scene from her home, consists of text and her body that seemingly moves in response to the 45-year-old house in which she lives. A house is a piece of equipment that accepts the body as well as a part of the body, but because it is a prerequisite to life, we rarely pay it attention. This work is about the relation between home and the body that Abe, a physical artist, found during the period of stay-at-home request.
